In line with our strategy, the Bank is looking for talented, dedicated and experienced professional(s) for the following position in the area of of Financial Control based at Karachi.
The individuals who fulfill the below basic-eligibility criteria may apply for the following position:
Position / Job Title:
Unit Head - IFRS 9 & Fair Valuations (AVP / VP)
Reporting to:
Wing Head - Strategic Finance & Special Projects
Educational /Professional Qualification:
- Minimum Graduation or equivalent from a local or international university / college / institute recognized by the HEC of Pakistan
- Candidate having Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Actuarial Sciences, Computational Finance, Data Sciences and / or other relevant professional qualification
Experience:
- Minimum 06 years of experience in Financial reporting and / or Risk Management in a Financial Institution and / or Article ship preferably with a Financial Institution and / or Audit firm out of which 02 years in IFRS 9 related assignments & reporting
Other Skills / Expertise / Knowledge Required:
Strong data mining and analytical skills with ability to manage large volumes of data and interpret and comment on data movement
Sound understanding of the Credit Risk, Exposure at Default, Probabilities of Default, Loss Given Default and Expected Credit Loss calculation methodology, credit policy, etc.
Excellent knowledge of open source programming and data analytical tools such as Python, Power BI, SQL and MS Excel etc.
Excellent communication skills
Detail oriented with high level of accuracy
Outline of Main Duties / Responsibilities:
To manage and implement the ongoing monthly, quarterly, semi annually and annually production of IFRS 9 Expected Credit Loss (ECL) calculations using approved models
To provide insights and analytical commentary to enable Senior Management to make informed decisions and exercise appropriate management judgment in relation to Expected Credit Loss calculations through regular monitoring and reporting
To develop and enhance IFRS 9 ECL models, including PD, LGD and EAD models as well as recalibration of PD, LGD, macroeconomic scenarios, interest rates and other relevant model parameters
To enhance IFRS 9 model monitoring and management information to enable Senior Management to assess the impact of new and potentially more complex products and investments
To ensure that relevant account movements, reconciliations, reports, annual report disclosures and accounting entries are prepared accurately and within the timelines prescribed under IFRS 9 and applicable financial reporting requirements
To ensure compliance with all regulatory and reporting requirements relating to IFRS 9
To provide training and technical guidance to Risk team members and other relevant officers on IFRS 9 and related risk management activities
To perform any other assignment as assigned by the supervisor(s)

Employment Type:
The employment will be on contractual basis for three years which may be renewed on discretion of the Management. Selected candidates will be offered compensation package and other benefits as per Bank’s Policy / rules.
