Description
The faculty member will play a key role in supporting student success by delivering structured lessons and utilizing sound educational research methodologies to enhance learning outcomes. The successful candidate will demonstrate expert knowledge in their subject area and the ability to engage students with diverse learning styles and backgrounds. Although this role does not involve managing a team, the faculty member is expected to collaborate effectively with other staff to maintain a high standard of education and support. By fostering a motivating and supportive classroom environment, the faculty contributes significantly to students’ preparation for their GED certification and future academic aspirations.
Responsibilities
- Deliver clear and engaging lessons in General Science or Social Studies aligned with GED curriculum standards.
- Develop and implement lesson plans that cater to varied student learning needs and promote critical thinking.
- Assess student progress regularly and maintain accurate and detailed records using MS Excel and MS Word.
- Prepare comprehensive student progress reports and communicate findings to students and administration.
- Utilize educational research methodologies to continuously improve teaching techniques and student learning outcomes.
- Ensure all teaching materials are relevant, up-to-date, and adhere to Nextstep’s academic standards.
- Create a positive classroom environment that encourages student participation and fosters a passion for learning.
- Support students in understanding course material, addressing individual challenges, and preparing for GED examinations.
- Collaborate with other faculty and administrative staff to align teaching strategies and share best practices.
- Maintain punctuality and professionalism by adhering to working hours and institutional policies.
- Stay current with developments in education, particularly within science and social studies fields relevant to GED preparation.
