They are responsible for ensuring timely and precise processing of payments, maintaining compliance with financial regulations, and supporting budgeting and forecasting activities. With a keen eye for detail and strong analytical skills, Finance Officers ensure that all financial transactions are correctly recorded and reconciled, thereby facilitating smooth financial operations across branches. This role demands collaboration across departments to prepare payment documents, reconcile general ledger accounts, and support audits. Finance Officers work independently under established guidelines without managing a team. Their role ensures that financial data is accurate and accessible for decision-making, contributing to the bank’s overall financial health and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Post all types of payments in accordance with the Delegation of Financial Authority (DOFA), Procurement Manual, agreements, and tax requirements within the organization.
- Charge expenses daily to the respective branches on behalf of the branches in the financial control system.
- Prepare and issue payment letters for pay orders and transfer payments into designated accounts, then communicate these transactions promptly to the relevant branches via email.
- Reconcile specified current accounts, vendor payables, staff payables, and client payables in the general ledger to ensure accuracy and completeness of the financial records.
- Process credit advices received from the insurance department on a daily basis and verify accurate responses from branches regarding those credits.
- Post various receipt transactions against different claims to appropriate general ledger accounts, ensuring proper allocation and documentation.
- Complete all voucher documentation daily and submit them to the record keeper for binding and record maintenance.
- Support the audit process by providing necessary vouchers and documents to external auditors during interim and annual audits.
- Perform any other finance-related tasks assigned by management to support the smooth functioning of the finance department.
