Description
The Store Keeper at Paint Chemicals & Petroleum Industry is responsible for managing and maintaining all store operations with precision and efficiency. This role requires overseeing the receipt, storage, and dispatch of materials to ensure optimal inventory levels and proper documentation. The Store Keeper ensures materials are stored safely and systematically, minimizing losses and damages, while supporting smooth operations within the warehouse environment. This is an individual contributor role and does not involve team management, but it demands collaboration with various departments to meet material requirements and support business functions effectively. The ideal candidate has at least two years of experience in warehouse or inventory management combined with strong knowledge of inventory control procedures and warehouse operations. Physical stamina is essential to handle the demands of moving and organizing materials. Proficiency in the use of inventory software is necessary to maintain accurate records and generate reports. The Store Keeper plays a crucial role in safeguarding company assets and ensuring that all stock-related activities comply with company policies and industry standards.
Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all incoming and outgoing materials to ensure transparency and traceability.
- Manage stock levels by monitoring inventory continuously and conducting regular stock counts to prevent shortages or overstocking.
- Organize and arrange materials systematically within the storage area to maximize space utilization and facilitate easy retrieval.
- Ensure that all stored materials are handled with care to prevent damage, spoilage, or deterioration.
- Maintain stock registers, documentation, and reports accurately and ensure that these records comply with company standards.
- Coordinate closely with procurement, production, and other relevant departments to align material availability with organizational needs.
- Utilize inventory management software efficiently to track stock movements, update records, and assist in generating inventory reports.
- Implement and adhere to safety norms and company policies within the storage area to maintain a safe working environment.
- Inspect materials daily for quality and condition, reporting any discrepancies or damages to the concerned authorities promptly.
- Support periodic audits by providing comprehensive inventory information and facilitating necessary verifications.
- Assist in the training of new personnel on storekeeping practices and inventory management software when required.
- Contribute to continuous improvements in storekeeping processes, suggesting ways to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
