Polymer Engineer

Description

Paklite Electrical Industries seeks an experienced Polymer Engineer to join its team and lead polymer material development and processing initiatives. This role involves applying in-depth knowledge of polymer materials science, synthesis, formulation, and processing techniques to develop and optimize polymer products. The engineer will oversee projects from concept through production scale-up, including injection molding, extrusion, and compounding processes. A strong focus on materials characterization and performance testing is essential to ensure high-quality outcomes. The engineer will also manage a team of six professionals, providing technical guidance and ensuring effective coordination to meet project goals and timelines. The ideal candidate holds at least a Bachelor of Science degree in Polymer Engineering or a related field, backed by a minimum of three years of relevant industry experience, although highly motivated fresh graduates are welcome to apply. This position requires expertise in advanced analytical techniques such as differential scanning calorimetry, gel permeation chromatography, rheometry, and mechanical testing methods. Emphasis is placed on the ability to optimize process parameters for scale-up and production reliability. The Polymer Engineer must demonstrate strong problem-solving skills and leadership capabilities to drive continuous process improvement and innovation within the polymer development function.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development, synthesis, and formulation of polymer materials tailored to specific product requirements.
• Design, implement, and optimize polymer processing operations including injection molding, extrusion, and compounding.
• Conduct comprehensive materials characterization and analysis using techniques such as thermal analysis, mechanical testing, DSC, GPC, and rheometry.
• Interpret data from experiments and tests to guide material and process improvements.
• Develop and refine process parameters and scale-up strategies to ensure consistent high-quality production.
• Manage and mentor a team of six engineers and technicians, fostering collaboration and technical skill development.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align polymer engineering deliverables with overall project objectives and timelines.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of advances in polymer science and processing technologies to implement best practices.
• Ensure compliance with quality standards, safety regulations, and environmental protocols throughout all polymer development activities.
• Prepare detailed technical reports, documentation, and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders.
