Description
Join PandaPatches as a CNC Programmer and Designer, where you play a vital role in the manufacturing process by designing precision components and developing effective CNC programs. You will use industry-standard CAD software such as AutoCAD and SolidWorks to create detailed component and tooling designs that meet exact specifications. Your expertise in generating accurate G-code and M-code will enable precise turning and milling operations. Your attention to detail and technical skills will ensure that programs are optimized for efficiency and accuracy before production begins. In this role, you are responsible for selecting the appropriate cutting tools, feeds, speeds, and machining sequences to maximize output quality and cycle time. You will also simulate and validate CNC programs to identify and correct potential errors, guaranteeing a smooth and error-free machining process. Close collaboration with production and quality assurance teams is essential to maintain dimensional accuracy and uphold high manufacturing standards. You will also maintain detailed documentation including program records, tool inventories, and setup sheets. This position requires a minimum of five years of experience, and you will work independently without direct team management responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Design components and tooling using CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or equivalent programs to produce precise and manufacturable models.
- Develop CNC programs including G-code and M-code for both turning and milling operations using CAM software like Mastercam or Fusion 360.
- Translate 2D and 3D engineering drawings into detailed, machining-ready CNC programs to facilitate efficient production.
- Select and optimize tooling, cutting feeds, spindle speeds, and machining sequences that enhance machining productivity and part quality.
- Simulate CNC programs through software tools to forecast performance, validate processes, and ensure error-free execution on the shop floor.
- Systematically troubleshoot programming and machining errors, and implement adjustments to minimize cycle times and machine downtime.
- Work in close coordination with production and quality control teams to verify dimensional accuracy and ensure parts comply with required standards.
- Maintain comprehensive records for all CNC programs, tooling specifications, and setup procedures to support traceability and repeatability.
- Perform regular maintenance checks and troubleshooting on CNC machines to ensure operational reliability and reduce production delays.
