Horticulture in-Charge

Description

Paragon City (Pvt.) Ltd is seeking a dedicated Horticulture in-Charge to oversee the care and maintenance of its gardens and landscaped areas. The ideal candidate will have at least seven years of experience in horticulture, with a focus on maintaining lawns, flower beds, plants, trees, and shrubs. This role requires an individual capable of planning and supervising landscaping and beautification projects to enhance the aesthetic appeal of the property. While this position does not entail managing a team, the candidate will coordinate daily activities involving gardeners and maintenance staff, ensuring all horticultural tasks are completed effectively and efficiently. The Horticulture in-Charge will be responsible for monitoring irrigation systems, identifying plant health issues such as diseases and pests, and implementing plant propagation techniques suited to seasonal requirements. Additionally, the role involves managing horticultural equipment and inventory, preparing cost estimates, maintaining safety standards for handling chemicals and tools, and submitting regular progress reports. A Diploma of Associate Engineering (DAE) in Agriculture or a related field is required to ensure the candidate possesses the technical knowledge necessary for successful performance in this role.

Responsibilities

• Maintain lawns, flower beds, plants, trees, and shrubs to ensure a vibrant and healthy garden environment.
• Plan and supervise landscaping, plantation, and beautification projects to enhance the property's overall appearance.
• Coordinate daily horticultural activities with gardeners, mali staff, and other gardening workers without direct team management responsibilities.
• Monitor irrigation systems, sprinklers, and drainage to ensure adequate watering and avoid water wastage or plant stress.
• Identify plant diseases, pests, and nutrient deficiencies promptly, applying appropriate treatments to protect plant health.
• Select suitable plants, seasonal flowers, and trees for plantation based on environmental conditions and aesthetic goals.
• Manage horticultural equipment, gardening tools, machinery, fertilizers, and other supplies, ensuring proper maintenance and availability.
• Prepare maintenance schedules and estimate costs associated with garden care and landscaping projects while submitting detailed progress reports.
• Enforce safety standards for the handling and storage of fertilizers, pesticides, and gardening equipment to minimize risks and comply with regulations.
• Implement plant propagation techniques, including pruning and cutting, to support plant growth and expand garden variety.
