Description
Paramount Associates is seeking an experienced Architectural Draftsman with a minimum of 10 years of professional experience to join our team. The successful candidate will be skilled in creating precise architectural drawings and construction documents using advanced Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and Building Information Modeling (BIM) software. This role involves close collaboration with architects, designers, and engineers to translate design concepts into detailed technical plans that meet all regulatory and construction standards. The ideal candidate must possess comprehensive knowledge of architectural drafting principles, building codes, and construction documentation processes to contribute effectively to various phases of building projects. The Architectural Draftsman will play a critical role in preparing accurate and compliant blueprints, ensuring project feasibility, and facilitating seamless project execution from concept through construction. Maintaining updated industry knowledge and software skills, the candidate will support site planning and bidding phases with thorough documentation. While this position does not involve team management responsibilities, it requires strong organizational skills and the ability to coordinate multidisciplinary drawing efforts and revisions independently to meet project deadlines and standards.
Responsibilities
- Create detailed architectural drawings and construction documents using Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and Building Information Modeling (BIM) software.
- Collaborate closely with architects, designers, and engineers to incorporate design plans into technical drawings and construction specifications.
- Review and verify design blueprints for accuracy, compliance with architectural standards, and feasibility for construction.
- Make necessary revisions to drafted plans based on feedback, project requirements, and regulatory guidelines.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of drafting software advancements, architectural standards, and industry best practices to enhance drawing quality and efficiency.
- Ensure that all drawings meet legal, safety, and regulatory compliance standards relevant to the construction industry.
- Participate in project coordination meetings to gather and relay design information, clarifications, and amendments.
- Assist in preparing drawings and documentation required for construction bids and tender processes.
- Organize and maintain detailed records of all sketches, drawings, blueprints, and revisions for project reference and archival purposes.
- Support site planning activities by providing accurate technical drawings needed during on-site construction phases.
- Use 3D modeling tools to visualize architectural designs and communicate spatial concepts effectively to stakeholders.
- Interpret and apply construction specifications to ensure that drawings reflect material requirements and building methods.
