Peregrine Fire is seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Design Engineer Fire System with a background in electrical engineering or an equivalent field. The ideal candidate has a minimum of three years of relevant experience in fire protection system design and is proficient in AutoCAD and hydraulic calculations. This role requires expertise in designing comprehensive fire protection systems, including fire detection, alarm systems, and sprinkler systems. The candidate should demonstrate strong technical documentation skills, the ability to handle client interactions effectively, and capability to manage multiple projects independently without direct team leadership responsibilities. The Design Engineer works closely with clients to assess their fire safety requirements and develop tailored fire protection system designs that meet industry standards and regulations. The role demands thorough knowledge of fire detection and alarm systems, sprinkler system design, and relevant hydraulic calculations. Strong communication skills are essential to collaborate with stakeholders and ensure precise project execution from initial design stages through implementation.
Responsibilities
- Develop detailed fire protection system designs using AutoCAD, including fire detection and alarm systems and sprinkler system layouts.
- Perform hydraulic calculations to ensure optimal performance and compliance with fire safety standards.
- Collaborate with clients to understand fire protection requirements and provide technical solutions tailored to their needs.
- Prepare comprehensive technical documentation, design reports, and project specifications that adhere to industry codes and standards.
- Manage multiple fire system design projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and quality standards without direct supervision.
- Coordinate with other engineering disciplines and contractors to integrate fire protection systems within overall building designs.
- Conduct site visits and inspections to assess existing fire protection systems and identify design improvements or retrofitting needs.
- Stay current with regulatory requirements, fire safety codes, and emerging technologies in fire protection system design.
- Support sales teams by providing technical expertise and presentations to potential clients, leveraging prior sales experience.
- Ensure all designs prioritize safety, cost-effectiveness, and functionality while meeting client expectations and regulatory compliance.
