PKF Antares is searching for an Intermediate Accountant to join our PAK Office – Accounting team. This role offers a valuable opportunity to work collaboratively within a skilled national team, supporting diverse client engagements. The Intermediate Accountant is responsible for managing the full bookkeeping cycle, preparing financial statements, and ensuring accurate account reconciliations. As an integral member of the team, the individual will also take an active role in coaching and managing a team of 5 junior associates and bookkeepers, fostering professional growth and maintaining high-quality financial practices. This position requires a candidate with 1 to 3 years of relevant experience in accounting, preferably gained within a public accounting environment. Proficiency in various accounting software such as QuickBooks, CaseWare, Profile, and Xero is essential, along with advanced computer skills in Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Strong communication abilities are vital to interact professionally with clients and collaborate effectively across the team. Holding an accounting certification or designation is an asset that enhances the candidate’s capability to contribute to PKF Antares’ comprehensive accounting, taxation, and advisory services.
Responsibilities
- Perform the full bookkeeping cycle including bank and account reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy and consistency.
- Verify, allocate, post, and reconcile accounts payable and accounts receivable, maintaining detailed financial records.
- Review month-end bookkeeping processes and prepare precise financial statements reflecting the client’s financial position.
- Analyze financial information and summarize the financial status to provide clients with clear insights and actionable data.
- Manage, mentor, and coach a team of 5 junior associates and bookkeepers, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
- Communicate professionally with clients, addressing inquiries and ensuring a clear understanding of financial information and reporting.
- Assist with ad-hoc tasks as required to support client engagements and internal accounting functions.
- Utilize accounting and tax software effectively, including QuickBooks, CaseWare, Profile, and Xero, to streamline accounting processes.
- Maintain strong written and verbal communication skills to provide timely updates and collaborate with team members.
- Support public accounting activities, including preparation of financial statements and corporate tax returns, adhering to regulatory requirements.
- Demonstrate advanced skills in Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint to create reports, perform data analysis, and support presentations.
