Description
Programmer Girls School seeks a dedicated and qualified English Teacher to join its secondary section and deliver engaging English lessons that foster strong language foundations and communication skills in students. The candidate will create age-appropriate lesson plans, assess student progress, and maintain a positive and disciplined classroom environment. This role focuses on nurturing students' academic and personal growth through creative teaching methods that build confidence in reading, writing, speaking, and listening. The role requires a professional who can effectively communicate with students, parents, and school staff, encouraging a love of language and reading while ensuring accurate record-keeping and student support. The ideal candidate holds a bachelor's degree in English or Education, has at least three years of relevant experience, and demonstrates excellent classroom management skills. Although team management is not required, active participation in school activities and professional development is expected to contribute to the overall educational mission.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver effective English lessons tailored to secondary-level students using age-appropriate methods.
- Teach reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills to build comprehensive language proficiency.
- Prepare detailed lesson plans, assignments, worksheets, tests, and examinations to support learning objectives.
- Assess, monitor, and document students’ academic progress and provide constructive and motivating feedback.
- Identify students requiring additional support and offer personalized guidance to meet their learning needs.
- Maintain a positive, disciplined, and engaging classroom environment that fosters creativity and confidence.
- Encourage a passion for reading and improve communication skills through diverse teaching activities.
- Keep accurate records of attendance, assessments, and student performance for school reporting purposes.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with parents, colleagues, and school management to support student development.
- Participate in school committees, meetings, and professional development programs to enhance teaching practices.
