The Logistics & Supply Chain Coordinator supports the smooth operation of the supply chain by managing important documentation like customs declarations and import/export papers, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. The role involves detailed planning to optimize freight usage and cost control while maintaining high service levels. The coordinator is expected to maintain organized records, communicate clearly with stakeholders, and proactively resolve logistical challenges to enhance the supply chain’s overall efficiency and reliability. This is a dynamic position requiring attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and adaptability within a fast-paced logistics environment.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate transportation schedules to ensure timely and efficient delivery of goods.
- Prepare and manage import and export documentation in compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee customs declaration processes to facilitate smooth clearance of shipments.
- Apply Incoterms 2020 effectively in all relevant transactions and documentation.
- Plan freight loads strategically to optimize space utilization and reduce transportation costs.
- Negotiate and evaluate freight rates to ensure cost-efficient logistics operations.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of shipments, documentation, and communication.
- Collaborate with internal teams including procurement, warehouse, and customer service to align logistics activities with business needs.
- Communicate with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and carriers to address and resolve logistical issues.
- Monitor shipment progress, identify potential risks, and implement corrective actions when necessary.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and company policies related to transportation and customs.
- Analyze supply chain processes to identify areas for improvement and recommend enhancements.
- Prepare reports related to logistics performance and freight costs as requested by management.
