Description

The Research Officer at Regional Insights Forum plays a critical role in advancing high-quality policy research focused on regional connectivity, trade corridors, and economic governance. This position requires strong expertise in research design, data collection, and statistical analysis to generate insightful policy briefs, analytical articles, and research papers. The officer collaborates closely with stakeholders and contributes to organizing conferences and policy dialogues, thereby supporting the organization's mission to inform evidence-based decision-making. This role also involves managing a team of five professionals, coordinating research activities, ensuring adherence to research ethics and compliance, and supervising data management processes. The ideal candidate has at least one year of experience in conducting policy research and is proficient with tools such as questionnaire design and the Qualtrics survey platform. Effective project management skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced research environment are essential to successfully fulfill the responsibilities of this position.

Responsibilities

• Conduct high-level policy research focused on regional connectivity, trade corridors, and economic governance issues.
• Design robust research frameworks, including sampling methodologies and data collection plans that meet ethical standards.
• Manage and oversee the research team of five members, ensuring collaborative achievement of project milestones and quality standards.
• Draft clear, concise, and well-structured policy briefs, research papers, and analytical articles suitable for publication and stakeholder dissemination.
• Develop and implement data management protocols to maintain integrity, confidentiality, and accessibility of research data.
• Design questionnaires and surveys using platforms like Qualtrics to collect quantitative and qualitative data relevant to ongoing projects.
• Perform statistical analysis on collected data using appropriate techniques to derive meaningful insights and policy recommendations.
• Support and coordinate the organization of conferences, workshops, and policy dialogues to engage key stakeholders and disseminate research findings.
• Ensure all research activities comply with institutional guidelines and relevant research ethics standards.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to align research outputs with strategic objectives and enhance policy impact.
