Sasco Group is seeking a skilled Accountant to join our finance department and oversee accurate financial record-keeping and reporting. The ideal candidate has at least five years of experience in accounting, particularly in managing monthly closings and reconciliations related to rents. This role demands strong attention to detail and the ability to manage a team of six professionals, ensuring all financial operations comply with company policies and regulations. The Accountant leads the month-end and year-end financial closing processes while maintaining precise cash application and reconciliation. They collaborate with other departments to monitor accounts payable and receivable, optimizing cash flow and supporting strategic financial decisions for Sasco Group. The role requires a proactive approach to managing financial documentation and delivering timely reports to stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Manage the full cycle of accounting activities related to monthly and yearly financial closings, with a focus on rental transactions.
• Lead and supervise a team of six accounting personnel, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluation.
• Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes to ensure accuracy and timely completion.
• Perform cash applications and reconcile bank statements to maintain balanced financial records.
• Prepare and analyze financial reports to support management decision-making and ensure compliance with accounting standards.
• Ensure all accounting operations adhere to company policies, regulatory requirements, and internal controls.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and verify financial data related to rent and other income streams.
• Identify and resolve discrepancies in accounting records and transactions promptly.
• Coordinate external audits and provide necessary documentation and explanations to auditors.
• Implement improvements in accounting workflows to increase efficiency and accuracy.
• Maintain updated knowledge of accounting principles and best practices relevant to rental finance management.
• Monitor and report on key financial performance indicators related to rental income and expenses.
