Second Home Group of Hostel is seeking a skilled Cook with at least one year of experience to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate is proficient in food preparation and specializes in traditional cooking techniques, including making roti on a tandoor and preparing parathas for breakfast. This role involves preparing various meals to meet the dietary needs and preferences of hostel residents while maintaining high standards of hygiene and food safety. The Cook will work independently without managing a team and will be responsible for ensuring the timely and efficient preparation of breakfast and other meals. The position requires attention to detail, consistency in food quality, and the ability to follow the specific culinary practices unique to our hostel’s kitchen environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals according to established recipes and dietary requirements.
• Specialize in making traditional flatbreads such as roti using a tandoor and parathas for breakfast service.
• Monitor food quality and presentation to ensure high standards are consistently maintained.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen area, adhering to food safety regulations.
• Manage inventory of food supplies and notify supervisors when reordering is required.
• Ensure timely preparation and serving of meals to meet the feeding schedule of hostel residents.
• Adjust cooking techniques and seasoning according to meal plans and resident preferences.
• Assist with meal planning and collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate daily food production.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including the tandoor and cooking appliances.
• Follow all health and safety policies to maintain a safe work environment in the kitchen.
