Description
Shahid Enterprises is looking for a skilled Accountant with at least five years of experience to join our finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a range of accounting functions including financial reporting, account reconciliation, tax compliance, budgeting, and forecasting. This role involves ensuring compliance with financial regulations and accounting standards, maintaining the general ledger, and preparing accurate financial statements. The Accountant will also collaborate with various departments to analyze financial data and support strategic financial planning. This position requires leadership capabilities as the Accountant will oversee and guide a team of two persons, ensuring efficient handling of accounts payable and receivable, internal auditing processes, and overall financial operations. The ideal candidate demonstrates proficiency in advanced accounting software and strong expertise in Excel functions, including macros and VBA programming, to streamline processes and improve data analysis. The role demands attention to detail, high integrity in managing financial information, and the ability to apply best practices in risk assessment, audit planning, and compliance management.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial reports in compliance with GAAP and financial reporting standards.
- Perform account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies to ensure the integrity of financial data.
- Ensure full compliance with tax regulations and coordinate tax filings using tax compliance software.
- Develop and monitor budgets and forecasts using appropriate tools such as Adaptive Insights, Oracle Hyperion, SAP BPC, and related budgeting and forecasting software.
- Maintain the general ledger and oversee accounts payable and receivable management to ensure timely and accurate processing.
- Lead internal audit planning, execution, and reporting following established internal auditing standards and risk management practices.
- Analyze financial statement data to support business decisions with financial modeling and data analysis techniques employing Excel advanced functions, macros, and VBA programming.
- Manage and mentor a team of two accounting professionals, providing guidance, training, and performance assessments.
- Utilize accounting software including SAP Financial Accounting, Sage Accounting Software, Sage 50 Accounting, and Oracle ERP to perform daily tasks efficiently.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline financial operations, enhance internal controls, and promote financial best practices.
- Conduct regular risk assessments and ensure appropriate measures are implemented to mitigate financial and operational risks.
- Prepare audit documentation, ensuring completeness and accuracy to support external and internal audit processes.
- Continuously update knowledge on financial regulations, reporting standards, auditing guidelines, and software tools relevant to the accounting function.
- Support senior management with detailed financial analysis, insights, and recommendations to achieve financial objectives.
