The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality academic teaching, conducting research, and providing patient care management. The role requires competence in using learning management systems, electronic health records, and clinical decision support systems to enhance teaching and clinical practice. While this position does not include managing a team, collaboration with faculty and clinical staff is essential to foster an enriching academic and clinical environment. The Assistant Professor will contribute significantly to advancing the department’s mission through rigorous research methodology and grant writing to support scholarly activities. Engagement with ophthalmic diagnostics and healthcare informatics is integral to ensure evidence-based clinical instruction and patient care. Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive academic lectures and practical sessions in clinical ophthalmology and ophthalmic surgery.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate curricular content aligned with medical education standards and best practices.
• Conduct independent and collaborative research projects, employing appropriate research methodologies to advance ophthalmic knowledge.
• Prepare and submit grant proposals to secure funding for research and academic innovation within the ophthalmology department.
• Supervise and mentor medical students, residents, and fellows in clinical settings and research activities.
• Utilize learning management systems to organize course materials, track student progress, and enhance instructional delivery.
• Engage in patient care management by applying ophthalmic diagnostics and clinical decision support systems to provide evidence-based treatment.
• Maintain accurate and detailed patient records using electronic health records, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations.
• Participate in departmental meetings, academic committees, and curriculum development initiatives.
• Employ assessment and evaluation methods to monitor student learning outcomes and provide constructive feedback.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to foster a supportive learning and clinical environment.
• Stay current with advances in ophthalmology and medical education through continuous professional development.
