IT Hardware Supervisor

Description

Shifa Tameer-e-Millat University is seeking an experienced IT Hardware Supervisor with a minimum of four years of relevant experience to oversee the management and maintenance of the university's IT hardware assets. The ideal candidate excels in IT asset management processes, hardware lifecycle oversight, and inventory control. This role involves hands-on hardware troubleshooting and maintenance, ensuring that all computing resources are optimized and fully functional to support the university's academic and administrative operations. The supervisor will also be responsible for maintaining accurate data within ServiceNow IT Asset Management and Configuration Management Database systems, ensuring configuration item lifecycles are properly documented and data quality is upheld. The IT Hardware Supervisor does not manage a team but collaborates closely with cross-functional IT teams to align hardware asset practices with overall IT service management objectives. The position demands a proactive approach to hardware asset lifecycle management and maintenance, along with strong coordination capabilities to support procurement and decommissioning processes. This role is vital to maintaining the technological infrastructure that aids Shifa Tameer-e-Millat University in delivering uninterrupted and effective IT services.

Responsibilities

• Manage the complete IT hardware asset lifecycle, from procurement and deployment through maintenance and retirement, to maximize asset utilization and lifespan.
• Perform regular hardware troubleshooting and maintenance to ensure continuous availability and performance of IT equipment.
• Maintain and update accurate records in the ServiceNow IT Asset Management and Configuration Management Database (CMDB), ensuring data quality and compliance with ITAM policies.
• Oversee Configuration Item (CI) lifecycle management, ensuring correct documentation and continuous improvement of asset data integrity.
• Coordinate inventory management activities to track and monitor hardware assets, minimizing losses and ensuring availability for operational needs.
• Collaborate with procurement and finance departments to support asset acquisition, budgeting, and disposal processes.
• Implement IT service management best practices related to hardware asset management, contributing to overall IT infrastructure efficiency.
• Conduct periodic audits of hardware assets to verify physical presence, condition, and alignment with inventory records and CMDB data.
• Document and report hardware issues, resolutions, and maintenance activities to support continuous improvement and knowledge sharing within the IT department.
• Work closely with IT service teams to ensure hardware compatibility and support during new technology deployments or upgrades.
