Shifa Tameer-e-Millat University seeks a diligent Lab Assistant for the SCIL Lab. This role involves supporting laboratory operations with a focus on maintaining strict laboratory safety protocols, preparing and handling specimens, and accurately recording data. The ideal candidate has at least one year of experience in a laboratory setting and a strong understanding of laboratory safety procedures and specimen preparation methods. This position does not include team management responsibilities but requires effective collaboration with other lab staff to ensure smooth and efficient lab activities. The Lab Assistant is responsible for assisting in the preparation and organization of laboratory equipment and samples, ensuring compliance with safety standards at all times. The role demands careful attention to detail in sample collection, tissue embedding, and documentation processes to support research and testing activities effectively. This position is integral to maintaining the high standards of the SCIL Lab, contributing to scientific accuracy and safety.

Responsibilities

• Perform sample collection, preparation, and processing following established specimen preparation methods.
• Adhere strictly to laboratory safety procedures and protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
• Prepare tissue embedding and other specimen preparation tasks with precision and care.
• Maintain accurate data recording and documentation for all laboratory activities to support research integrity and compliance.
• Organize and manage laboratory equipment, ensuring readiness and cleanliness for daily operations.
• Assist in the calibration, maintenance, and inventory of laboratory instruments and supplies.
• Support scientists and researchers by preparing materials and conducting routine laboratory tasks as required.
• Monitor laboratory conditions to ensure compliance with safety standards and report any hazards or issues promptly.
• Follow quality control procedures to maintain the validity and reliability of laboratory results.
• Participate in training activities to stay updated on new laboratory techniques and safety regulations.
