Network/IT Labs Supervisor

Description

Shifa Tameer-e-Millat University is seeking a skilled Network/IT Labs Supervisor with a minimum of 5 years of experience to oversee the university’s network infrastructure and IT lab operations. The successful candidate will manage a team of 20 professionals, ensuring the efficient operation, maintenance, and security of all network systems and laboratory IT resources. This role demands a strong technical background in network infrastructure management along with excellent leadership abilities to guide, schedule, and support the team in delivering high-quality IT services and solutions. The Network/IT Labs Supervisor is responsible for supervising day-to-day IT lab operations, managing IT assets and inventory, coordinating vendor and procurement activities, and resolving complex network issues using advanced troubleshooting techniques. The role requires proficiency in Cisco IOS, Juniper Junos, VMware vSphere, and Wireshark packet analysis to maintain optimal network performance and security. The supervisor ensures that all IT lab activities align with organizational goals, compliance standards, and best practices, while fostering a collaborative and productive working environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee the operation of network infrastructure and IT labs to ensure reliability and performance.
• Lead, supervise, and schedule a team of 20 IT professionals, providing guidance, training, and support.
• Conduct regular network troubleshooting and system administration to promptly resolve technical issues.
• Maintain and update IT asset inventory and manage procurement processes with vendors.
• Implement and monitor network security protocols using Cisco IOS and Juniper Junos platforms.
• Analyze network traffic and diagnose problems using Wireshark packet analysis tools.
• Administer and optimize virtualized environments utilizing VMware vSphere.
• Develop and enforce IT lab policies and procedures to enhance operational efficiency.
• Collaborate with academic and administrative departments to support their network and lab needs.
• Prepare reports on network performance, asset management, and team productivity for senior management.
• Coordinate with external vendors and service providers to maintain and upgrade IT infrastructure.
• Ensure compliance with university policies, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
