Research Assistant

Description

Shifa Tameer-e-Millat University is seeking a dedicated Research Assistant to support research projects by performing comprehensive literature reviews, collecting and analyzing data, and assisting in the application of research methodologies. The ideal candidate has at least two years of relevant experience and possesses a strong foundation in statistical analysis, hypothesis testing, and reference management. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, the ability to synthesize scientific information, and proficiency in various research tools and techniques. The Research Assistant will work closely with principal investigators to facilitate data-driven insights and contribute to the generation of scholarly outputs. Although this position does not involve managing a team, the Research Assistant plays a vital role in contributing to the success of research initiatives by independently handling research tasks and collaborating effectively within the research group. The role is fundamental in ensuring that research procedures comply with academic standards and that documentation and metadata are accurately curated and maintained. This position provides valuable experience for individuals looking to develop their skills within an academic or scientific research environment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive literature reviews using Boolean database search strategies to identify relevant academic and scientific resources.
• Collect, organize, and manage research data using appropriate methodologies and tools to ensure accuracy and integrity.
• Apply statistical analysis and hypothesis testing techniques to analyze collected data and draw meaningful conclusions.
• Use reference management software, including Zotero, to curate bibliographic metadata and maintain organized research records.
• Employ web scraping techniques to gather publicly available data when required for research purposes.
• Assist principal investigators in designing and implementing research methodologies tailored to study objectives.
• Ensure compliance with research protocols and academic standards throughout the data collection and analysis process.
• Prepare detailed reports and summaries reflecting research findings to support publication and further investigation.
• Maintain accurate documentation of research activities, including datasets, protocols, and results.
• Support the drafting and editing of research manuscripts by providing relevant data insights and references.
• Participate in research meetings and contribute ideas to enhance research design and problem-solving approaches.
• Stay current with advances in research methods and tools relevant to the university's disciplines to continuously improve research quality.
