Description

Shirka Sahara is seeking a dedicated Gardner to lead and manage a team of 50 individuals, ensuring the efficient maintenance and beautification of landscaped areas. The ideal candidate possesses a minimum of two years of experience and demonstrates expertise in plant identification, landscaping, and plant propagation. This role involves overseeing daily horticultural tasks, coordinating team efforts, and implementing sustainable gardening practices to maintain the aesthetic and health of outdoor environments.

As the Gardner, you are responsible for supervising the team to complete planting, pruning, watering, and soil care activities. You will also identify and manage plant health issues, contribute to the design and execution of landscaping projects, and ensure that all gardening operations align with organizational standards and environmental best practices. Strong leadership and organizational skills are essential to successfully managing the large team and achieving optimum garden conditions throughout the year.

Responsibilities

• Lead, supervise, and coordinate the daily activities of a 50-person gardening team to meet project deadlines and maintain quality standards.
• Identify various plant species and assess their health to implement appropriate care and maintenance practices.
• Design, plan, and execute landscaping projects that enhance the visual appeal and ecological balance of outdoor spaces.
• Manage plant propagation processes, including seed sowing, cutting, grafting, and nurturing young plants to maturity.
• Monitor soil conditions and apply fertilizers, pesticides, and herbicides safely and effectively to promote plant growth and prevent diseases.
• Schedule and oversee irrigation routines, ensuring efficient water use and optimal moisture levels for different plant varieties.
• Maintain gardening equipment and tools, ensuring their proper use, cleaning, and timely repair or replacement.
• Train and mentor team members on best horticultural practices, safety procedures, and new landscaping techniques.
• Develop and implement sustainable gardening policies that reduce environmental impact and promote biodiversity.
• Maintain accurate records of plant inventories, maintenance activities, and team performance metrics.
• Coordinate with suppliers and vendors for procurement of plants, materials, and equipment required for landscaping operations.
• Adapt gardening strategies to changing seasons and environmental conditions to preserve plant health year-round.
