Sindh Bank Limited is seeking an experienced professional for the position of Unit Head Environmental and Social Risk Management (Credit Risk) in its Risk Management Division. The incumbent will be responsible for developing and implementing frameworks to identify, assess, monitor, and manage environmental and social risks associated with the Bank's financing activities. The role involves integrating environmental and social risk assessments into credit appraisal and monitoring processes, evaluating potential risks associated with financed projects, ensuring compliance with applicable regulatory guidelines and the Bank's internal policies, and coordinating with relevant business units to promote responsible lending practices and strengthen the Bank's credit risk management framework.

Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive Environmental, Social, and Climate Risk Management (EnvRM) system in accordance with the size and nature of the bank’s financing and investment portfolios.
- Create and maintain the Environmental & Social Risk Avoidance List and General Environmental & Social Checklist, including sector-specific environmental checklists customized for various industries.
- Establish and apply an Environmental & Social Risk Rating and Risk Categorization Model to assess the potential risks associated with clients and financing transactions.
- Collaborate with the Green Banking Office to support and enhance green banking practices and environmental initiatives within the bank.
- Develop and implement an internal EnvRM manual that details step-by-step procedures for evaluating environmental risks, rating and categorizing those risks, and assigning roles and responsibilities across different levels of the organization.
- Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements related to environmental protection, climate change policies, and adherence to Multilateral Environmental Agreements across the bank's portfolios.
- Conduct regular assessments and monitoring to provide reasonable assurance that the customer portfolio and the bank’s investments meet environmental and climate standards.
- Support the review and integration of environmental risk considerations into credit and investment decision-making processes.
- Provide expert advice and guidance to risk and compliance teams regarding environmental and social risk challenges and mitigation strategies.
- Prepare reports and documentation relevant to environmental and climate risk management for senior management and regulatory bodies.
- Stay updated on emerging trends, regulations, and best practices in environmental, social, and climate risk management to ensure continuous improvement of the EnvRM framework.
- Perform any additional tasks by the Deputy Head of Enterprise Risk Management Department and Head Risk Management Division to support the bank’s overall risk management strategy.
Experience :
Minimum 3 years banking experience in Risk Management Division
Qualification :
Minimum graduate, preferably MBA (Banking, Finance, Actuarial / Environmental Sciences from a recognized university

Upto 50 years
