ICT / Low Voltage Draftsman & Estimating Assistant

Description

We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented ICT / Low Voltage Draftsman & Estimating Assistant based in Pakistan to support projects for our international clients.

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and updating AutoCAD drawings, Bluebeam Revu markups, material takeoffs, Bills of Material (BOM), and project documentation for ICT and low-voltage systems.

The role requires the ability to review architectural drawings, ICT drawings, project specifications, addendums, tender documents, and other project information to determine system requirements.

The candidate will work remotely and collaborate with our estimating, design, sales, and project teams.

Responsibilities

AutoCAD Drafting

• Prepare and revise AutoCAD drawings for ICT and low-voltage systems.
• Prepare floor plans, device layouts, system layouts, riser diagrams, single-line diagrams, details, and schedules as required.
• Create and maintain drawing layers, blocks, symbols, legends, notes, and title blocks.
• Update drawings based on redlines, design changes, field information, and project team comments.
• Prepare as-built and record drawings based on field markups and project information.
• Coordinate ICT and low-voltage information with architectural and other relevant construction drawings.
• Maintain accurate drawing revisions and organized project files.

Bluebeam Revu Markups

• Prepare detailed Bluebeam Revu markups on architectural and other project PDF drawings.
• Mark proposed device locations, equipment, cabling, pathways, notes, callouts, and other system information.
• Create and use appropriate Bluebeam tool sets, symbols, legends, layers, annotations, and markups.
• Prepare preliminary system layouts in Bluebeam for estimating and design purposes.
• Revise markups based on project changes, addendums, and feedback from the project team.
• Maintain drawing revisions and ensure the latest project documents are being used.

Project Specification Review

• Read and review project specifications, drawings, tender documents, addendums, and related project documentation.
• Identify requirements related to ICT, telecommunications, security, and low-voltage systems.
• Identify specified manufacturers, products, equipment, cabling, installation requirements, software, licensing, and accessories.
• Compare project specifications against drawings to identify discrepancies or missing information.
• Identify exclusions, conflicts, unclear requirements, and items requiring clarification.
• Highlight potential scope gaps or requirements that may affect the project.
• Assist in identifying questions that may require an RFI (Request for Information) or clarification.
• Review issued addendums and identify changes affecting the project scope, drawings, or BOM.

Material Takeoffs & Bill of Material

• Perform accurate device, equipment, cable, and material takeoffs from project drawings and specifications.
• Prepare detailed Bills of Material (BOM) using company-provided spreadsheets and templates.
• Accurately enter equipment and material quantities into the provided spreadsheets.
• Identify and quantify items including:
  • Devices and equipment
  • Copper cabling
  • Fiber-optic cabling
  • Racks and cabinets
  • Patch panels
  • Jacks and connectivity
  • Power supplies
  • Controllers and modules
  • Software and licenses
  • Mounting hardware
  • Accessories
  • Other required system components
• Cross-check quantities against drawings and specifications.
• Update BOMs following drawing revisions, addendums, or changes to project requirements.
• Clearly identify items where quantities, manufacturer requirements, or scope cannot be determined from the provided documents.

Experience with every system listed above is not required. Candidates with strong drafting and construction-documentation skills who are willing to learn ICT and low-voltage systems will also be considered.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Diploma, certificate, or degree in Drafting, Telecommunications, Electronics, Engineering Technology, ICT, or a related technical field.
• Strong proficiency with AutoCAD.
• Experience using Bluebeam Revu for drawing review and markups.
• Ability to read and understand architectural, ICT, telecommunications, and low-voltage construction drawings.
• Ability to read and interpret technical project specifications.
• Good Microsoft Excel skills.
• Ability to work with company-provided BOM spreadsheets and templates.
• Ability to perform accurate device, cable, and material takeoffs.
• Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good organizational and file-management skills.
• Ability to follow instructions and established drafting standards.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment.

Remote Work Requirements

This is a full-time remote position based in Pakistan.

The candidate must have:

• Computer/workstation capable of running AutoCAD and Bluebeam Revu.
• Reliable power and suitable backup arrangements.
• Quiet and professional home working environment.
• Headset and webcam for online meetings.
• Ability to securely manage confidential project documents and information.
• Ability to maintain regular communication with the team.
• Availability to work hours aligned with Mountain Standard Time (MST) to support our international clients.

Candidates with strong AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and construction drawing experience who are willing to learn ICT and low-voltage systems may also be considered.

Primary Functions of the Role

The position will primarily involve four areas:

1. AutoCAD Drafting
   Preparing and revising ICT and low-voltage technical drawings.
2. Bluebeam Markups
   Preparing layouts, device locations, cabling information, and other project markups on PDF drawings.
3. Specification & Document Review
   Reading project drawings, specifications, addendums, and related documents to determine project requirements.
4. Takeoffs & BOM Preparation
   Performing equipment and material takeoffs and preparing Bills of Material using company-provided spreadsheets.
