Responsibilities
- This is the entry point into Softech's sales function and the first step on a defined path to a field sales role.
- The Inside Sales Executive is assigned a set of channel partners and a product line, and is responsible for building pipeline through those partners and driving their open deals to a closed order. The role is primarily desk-based — partners are worked by phone, email and online meetings, with occasional visits in person. You will engage the end customer alongside the partner where a deal requires it, and remain the owner of the opportunity through to closure.
- Technical demonstrations, sizing and proof of concepts are supported by our Presales Engineer. Pricing approvals and non-standard commercial terms sit with the Head of Channel Sales.
- Key Responsibilities
- Partner Management and Activation
- Own an assigned set of channel partners and resellers as their day-to-day point of contact at Softech
- Maintain consistent outreach to keep assigned partners active and engaged
- Build working relationships with the sales teams inside each partner organisation
- Introduce assigned products to partner sales teams and keep them updated on new releases, promotions and vendor programmes
- Identify and onboard new partners where gaps exist in coverage
- Pipeline Generation and Deal Closure
- Generate pipeline through assigned partners by working their customer base
- Track every open partner opportunity and drive it forward until it closes
- Qualify opportunities on budget, authority, need and timeline
- Join partner calls and meetings with end customers where the deal requires Softech's presence
- Own each opportunity through to a closed order and a collected payment
- Escalate stalled deals rather than allowing them to sit
- Commercial Execution
- Prepare and issue quotations to partners accurately and within agreed turnaround times
- Prepare Requests for Quotation to vendors and distributors and follow them through
- Read and interpret the Bill of Quantities for an opportunity
- Compile commercial proposals and supporting documentation
- Register and protect deals with vendors, and request special pricing and discount approvals
- Obtain stock availability, lead times and delivery commitments
- Process sales orders and track them from purchase order to delivery to invoicing
- Follow up on collections against own accounts
- Product Ownership and Learning
- Take responsibility for one assigned product line, supported by the Head of Channel Sales and the Presales Engineer
- Achieve the sales certifications assigned for that product within defined timelines
- Develop commercial knowledge of the product sufficient to position it credibly to a partner
- Build working knowledge of the wider Softech portfolio to identify cross-sell opportunities
- Events and Market Presence
- Support the planning and execution of partner events, customer events and webinars hosted by Softech
- Drive registration and attendance through direct outreach
- Attend events and engage attendees where required
- Capture, qualify and action every lead generated
- CRM and Reporting
- Maintain accurate and current records of all partners, leads, opportunities and order status in the CRM
- Submit an accurate pipeline update and forecast for assigned partners
- Prepare activity and pipeline reports for management review
- Report competitive intelligence and pricing pressure back to management
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, IT or a related field (mandatory)
- Minimum one year of experience in sales, inside sales, sales coordination or a customer-facing commercial role (mandatory)
- Demonstrated comfort making outbound calls and holding a business conversation with someone more senior
- Evidence of consistent follow-up and ownership
- Fluent spoken and written English — non-negotiable given the level of partner, customer and international vendor interaction
- Based in Karachi and available to work on-site during the stated working hours
- Willing and available to travel — occasionally within Karachi for partner and customer visits, and to other cities for meetings and events, both now and as the role grows (mandatory)
- Working proficiency with MS Office, particularly Excel and Word
Preferred (not mandatory)
- Prior experience in an IT distribution, systems integration or technology reseller environment
- Hands-on exposure to quotations, RFQs, sales order processing or order follow-through
- Familiarity with reading a Bill of Quantities or technical specification
- Experience with CRM tools and structured pipeline data
- Understanding of B2B sales cycles and channel partner models
- Exposure to cybersecurity, networking, enterprise software or IT infrastructure products
The Person We Are Looking For
- Confident on the phone, and comfortable making the first call to someone they have never spoken to
- Disciplined with follow-up — persistent without being pushy
- Punctual, reliable and professional in conduct
- Organised and accurate, particularly on quotations and documentation
- Genuinely quick to learn, with the discipline to self-study a product to a working depth
- Commercially curious about how partners make money and how buying decisions get made
- Takes ownership of an open item and closes it out without being chased
- Coachable and quick to apply feedback
Compensation and Benefits
- PKR 70,000 to PKR 100,000 per month, depending on current standing and experience
- Medical insurance coverage
- Fuel allowance, payable against customer and partner site visits
- Mobile allowance
- Structured annual leave, in addition to casual and sick leave
- Performance-based incentives and bonuses (not guaranteed, payable on performance against agreed targets)
Career Path
This role is designed as the first step in Softech's sales career path, not as a permanent position.
Inside Sales Executive → Sales Executive, taking ownership of a product line across Pakistan, carrying its revenue number and moving into a field-based role → Sales Manager, taking on multiple product lines and a broader commercial remit.
Progression is based on demonstrated performance rather than time served: certifications completed within timelines, pipeline consistently built through the assigned partner base, deals closed against agreed targets, and readiness to represent Softech independently in front of a customer.
Softech Microsystems is an equal opportunity employer. All applications are assessed on merit against the requirements set out above.
