Description
Solutioners Consulting is seeking a skilled CCTV Installation Technician with at least 2 years of practical experience in installing and troubleshooting CCTV systems. The ideal candidate will have hands-on expertise with IP networking, LAN cabling, Power over Ethernet switches, and configuration of Network Video Recorders and Digital Video Recorders. Familiarity with leading CCTV brands such as Hikvision and Dahua is essential. This role requires the candidate to independently handle installation tasks, including mounting cameras, terminating cables, and configuring devices according to detailed technical instructions and installation drawings. The CCTV Installation Technician works with various installation tools like crimping tools, cable testers, and drills, ensuring accurate and professional setup of security surveillance systems. This position demands technical proficiency, attention to detail, and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues on-site effectively. The role does not involve managing a team but requires proactive communication and coordination with clients and internal teams to deliver seamless installation services.
Responsibilities
- Install and mount CCTV cameras accurately following manufacturer specifications and site requirements.
- Perform structured cabling tasks including cable routing, termination, and testing to ensure reliable connections.
- Configure Network Video Recorders (NVRs) and Digital Video Recorders (DVRs) to optimize video monitoring capabilities.
- Set up IP networks and configure Power over Ethernet (PoE) switches to support CCTV systems efficiently.
- Perform system testing and troubleshooting to identify and resolve installation or configuration issues.
- Interpret and follow technical installation drawings and manufacturer instructions precisely.
- Use specialized tools such as crimping tools, cable testers, drills, and other equipment required for installations.
- Conduct regular maintenance checks and updates on existing CCTV systems as needed.
- Maintain clear documentation of installation processes, configurations, and system changes.
- Communicate effectively with clients to understand requirements and provide technical support during and after installation.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations during all installation activities.
- Stay updated on the latest CCTV technologies, products, and industry trends to recommend improvements.
