Star Mart is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Store Cashier to join our team in Lahore. The successful candidate will be responsible for efficiently handling payment processing and operating the Point Of Sale (POS) terminal to ensure smooth and accurate billing transactions. This role requires strong attention to detail and a good understanding of payment methods, including cash, card, and contactless transactions. Experience with POS terminal operation is essential, alongside a commitment to providing excellent customer service in a busy retail environment. As a Store Cashier at Star Mart, you will be at the frontline interacting with customers, ensuring accurate transaction handling, managing cash balances, and maintaining an organized checkout area. You will play a key role in supporting store operations by managing daily cash flow, performing reconciliations, and addressing any payment-related issues. This position requires a candidate with at least one year of relevant experience and a strong sense of accountability, although it does not involve managing a team.

Responsibilities

• Operate the Point Of Sale (POS) system to accurately process customer transactions, including cash, card, and contactless payments.
• Manage and reconcile cash drawer to ensure accurate cash balances throughout the shift.
• Provide prompt and courteous service to customers, answering questions and resolving payment-related issues efficiently.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the checkout area to ensure a professional and welcoming environment.
• Handle returns, exchanges, and refunds in accordance with store policies, ensuring proper documentation.
• Assist in inventory management by reporting discrepancies or low stock items observed during checkout.
• Adhere to all company policies and procedures regarding payment security and customer data privacy.
• Work collaboratively with team members to support store operations and achieve daily sales targets.
• Report any technical issues with POS terminals or payment processing promptly to management for timely resolution.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of store products and promotions to assist customers effectively.
