Your expertise will help facilitate smooth communication between healthcare providers and insurance companies, ultimately contributing to the financial health of the organization. This position requires a minimum of one year of experience in medical billing, strong attention to detail, and a solid understanding of the insurance claim process. While this role does not involve team management, strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently are essential.

Responsibilities

- Process and submit insurance claims accurately and within designated timeframes to ensure prompt payment.
- Post payments received from insurance companies and patients, reconciling any discrepancies.
- Manage the entire medical billing cycle from start to finish, ensuring all claims follow company policies and regulatory standards.
- Verify patient insurance details and eligibility prior to billing to minimize claim denials.
- Review rejected or denied claims, identify issues, and resubmit corrected claims to optimize revenue collection.
- Maintain up-to-date records of all billing activities, payments, and adjustments in the billing system.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers and insurance companies to resolve billing inquiries and discrepancies.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and ethical billing practices to protect patient confidentiality.
- Generate periodic reports on billing status, outstanding claims, and payment collections for management review.
- Continuously update knowledge about billing codes, insurance policies, and billing software to improve job performance.
