HSE Health & Safety Officer

Description

The BKRY is seeking a dedicated HSE Health & Safety Officer to ensure workplace safety and regulatory compliance across all operations. This role involves developing, implementing, and maintaining health, safety, and environmental procedures aligned with company policies and applicable legal requirements. The candidate will be responsible for conducting regular workplace inspections, safety audits, and risk assessments to identify hazards and propose corrective actions. This position requires close collaboration with various departments to promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement. As a key member of the health and safety team, the officer will lead and manage a team of three safety professionals to drive effective safety programs and ensure adherence to ISO standards, including ISO 45001. The role demands strong attention to detail and proactive communication skills to enforce compliance with health and safety regulations, including occupational health, food safety hazard analysis, and critical control point monitoring under HACCP. The officer will be instrumental in preparing and maintaining accurate HSE documentation and reports that support organizational safety goals and regulatory obligations.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain health, safety, and environmental management systems in compliance with relevant regulations and company policies.
• Lead and manage a team of three safety professionals, providing guidance, coaching, and performance management to achieve safety objectives.
• Conduct regular workplace inspections, risk assessments, and safety audits to identify hazards and ensure effective control measures.
• Coordinate the implementation of Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and facilitate employee participation in safety programs and training activities.
• Monitor compliance with ISO standards, particularly ISO 45001 Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems, to ensure continuous improvement.
• Manage food safety hazard analysis, including Critical Control Point (CCP) monitoring and administration of the HACCP plan to mitigate risks in food handling and processing.
• Prepare, maintain, and review HSE documentation, safety reports, incident investigations, and statistics for regulatory compliance and management review.
• Collaborate with internal departments to investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses, recommending corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Stay updated with industry health and safety regulations and best practices, ensuring The BKRY meets or exceeds legal and regulatory requirements.
• Promote safety awareness and encourage employee engagement and ownership of health and safety responsibilities.
• Facilitate training and educational sessions to ensure workforce competency and understanding of safety procedures.
• Support emergency preparedness and response activities to ensure readiness for potential workplace hazards.
