The Shorra is seeking a motivated and skilled Part-time/Contract Developer proficient in C# and Next.js to join their team in Karachi. This role focuses on contributing directly to the development and enhancement of an early-stage short-video platform. The ideal candidate will possess hands-on experience with ASP.NET Core, PostgreSQL, and modern web technologies, and will work closely with the company founder to complete and refine the existing minimum viable product (MVP). This opportunity requires a self-driven developer with a strong understanding of full-stack development and relevant backend and frontend integration. The developer will engage in building scalable and efficient application features, addressing performance optimizations, and integrating various technologies such as Docker and FFmpeg. While this position is part-time and contract-based, it demands a consistent commitment to delivering high-quality code. Collaboration with the founding team allows for meaningful impact on product direction and technical decisions, ideal for a developer seeking a dynamic and growth-oriented environment without managing a team.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the short-video platform using ASP.NET Core for backend services and Next.js for frontend interfaces.
• Implement and optimize API integration to ensure seamless communication between frontend and backend components.
• Collaborate directly with the founder to understand product requirements and deliver updates to improve the MVP.
• Utilize PostgreSQL for data storage and management, ensuring data integrity and performance.
• Deploy applications using Docker containers and manage containerized environments.
• Work with media processing tools such as FFmpeg to support video streaming and conversion in the platform.
• Implement HLS (HTTP Live Streaming) protocols to enable smooth and adaptive video playback.
• Perform code reviews and unit testing to maintain code quality and application stability.
• Continuously improve application performance, security, and scalability.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues in both frontend and backend codebases.
• Stay updated with relevant technologies and industry trends to introduce best practices.
• Document code, architecture, and development processes for future reference.
