Description
Trending Technologies seeks an Assistant Manager Sales to support the growth of its information technology sales business, with a strong focus on clients in government and participation in government tenders. This role suits a sales professional with at least two years of experience selling information technology products or services. The person in this position identifies potential public-sector opportunities, develops client relationships, manages leads and sales opportunities, and helps prepare clear, accurate tender and sales submissions. The role requires a practical understanding of the sales cycle, confidence in client discussions, and the ability to organize information from multiple sources. The successful candidate explains the company’s relevant solutions in a straightforward way, understands client needs, and coordinates next steps that move qualified opportunities toward a decision. The position does not manage a team. It contributes as an individual sales professional and works with relevant internal colleagues to gather the information needed for client proposals, pricing, tender responses, and delivery discussions. The Assistant Manager Sales maintains accurate records, follows up consistently, and shares useful updates about client requirements, market activity, and upcoming opportunities. By combining structured sales work with responsive client service, this role helps Trending Technologies build trust with government clients, submit complete and timely bids, and develop sustainable sales opportunities.
Responsibilities
- • Identify government organizations, public-sector departments, and other suitable prospects that may need the information technology products or services offered by Trending Technologies. Research their stated needs, purchasing priorities, and upcoming opportunities using appropriate and available sources.
- • Build and maintain professional relationships with prospective and existing government clients. Learn about their business and service requirements, respond promptly to questions, and keep discussions focused on how the company’s solutions may address their needs.
- • Conduct initial discussions with prospective clients to understand their objectives, current challenges, expected outcomes, buying process, budget considerations, and decision timelines. Record relevant information and use it to assess whether an opportunity is suitable for further engagement.
- • Manage leads and sales opportunities from initial identification through qualification, proposal, negotiation, and follow-up. Keep each opportunity organized, define the next action, and complete follow-ups within the agreed time frame.
- • Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer relationship management records. Enter client details, meeting notes, contact history, opportunity status, tender deadlines, follow-up actions, and relevant sales documents in the company’s designated systems.
- • Monitor government tender notices and other public-sector sales opportunities that match the company’s services and capabilities. Review the scope, eligibility conditions, submission instructions, required documents, evaluation criteria, and closing dates before recommending whether to pursue an opportunity.
- • Coordinate the preparation of tender and bid submissions by collecting accurate information from relevant internal sources. Organize responses, supporting documents, company details, technical inputs, commercial information, and other requested materials in line with the tender instructions.
- • Prepare or support the preparation of clear proposals, sales presentations, capability statements, quotations, and other client-facing materials. Tailor the content to the opportunity while ensuring that statements about the company’s services are accurate and easy to understand.
- • Track tender requirements and submission schedules carefully. Maintain a checklist for each bid, review documents for completeness, identify missing information early, and coordinate timely completion before the stated deadline.
- • Follow the organization’s approval processes when preparing commercial offers, quotations, contractual information, and tender responses. Confirm that pricing and commitments receive the appropriate review before they are presented to a client.
- • Work with relevant internal colleagues to clarify client requirements, confirm service capabilities, obtain pricing or technical details, and address questions that arise during the sales process. Share client feedback and requirements accurately so that internal teams can respond effectively.
- • Explain the company’s information technology offerings in a clear, client-focused manner. Connect product or service features to the client’s stated requirements, avoid unsupported claims, and seek clarification when a technical question requires input from a subject matter expert.
- • Arrange and attend client meetings, presentations, consultations, and tender-related discussions as appropriate. Prepare in advance, share relevant materials, capture decisions and action items, and follow through on commitments made during the discussion.
- • Develop sales proposals that reflect the client’s needs, the requested scope, commercial expectations, and the company’s ability to deliver. Check that proposal content is consistent, complete, and aligned with the opportunity before submission.
- • Respond to client questions and requests for information in a timely and professional manner. Coordinate answers when a request involves technical, operational, legal, or commercial information that requires review by another function.
- • Support negotiation discussions by understanding the client’s priorities, explaining the value of the proposed solution, and documenting requests for changes. Refer decisions about pricing, contractual terms, scope, and commitments to the appropriate approval authority.
- • Maintain regular contact with active prospects and clients without making unsupported promises or placing undue pressure on decision-makers. Record important developments, confirm agreed next steps, and provide helpful updates throughout the sales cycle.
- • Identify opportunities to expand existing client relationships when a client’s requirements align with the company’s capabilities. Discuss relevant needs with the client, document potential opportunities, and coordinate appropriate follow-up.
- • Review lost, delayed, or unsuccessful opportunities to understand the outcome and capture useful lessons. Record client feedback, identify process improvements, and share relevant observations with the appropriate internal contacts.
- • Prepare routine sales updates on leads, pipeline activity, meetings, tender participation, proposal status, expected decisions, and client feedback. Present information accurately and flag deadlines, risks, or support needs in a timely way.
- • Maintain an organized record of tender documents, proposal versions, client correspondence, meeting notes, and supporting materials. Use approved storage and document practices so that current information is easy to locate and review.
- • Monitor relevant public-sector purchasing activity and changes in client requirements that may affect the company’s sales opportunities. Share useful findings and recommend areas for further prospect research or client engagement.
- • Treat client, commercial, and tender information with care. Follow company policies and applicable tender instructions, protect confidential materials, and avoid sharing information with unauthorized parties.
- • Represent Trending Technologies professionally in client interactions and sales activities. Communicate respectfully, provide accurate information, meet agreed commitments, and raise concerns promptly when a request falls outside the role’s authority or the company’s capabilities.
- • Support sales planning by reviewing assigned targets, prioritizing opportunities according to fit and timing, and keeping a practical schedule for client outreach, follow-ups, proposal work, and tender deadlines.
- • Continue developing knowledge of the company’s information technology services, public-sector sales processes, tender documentation, and client purchasing requirements. Apply new knowledge to improve the quality and consistency of client discussions and sales submissions.
- • Contribute to the improvement of sales templates, tender checklists, customer records, and follow-up practices by identifying recurring issues and proposing clear, practical updates.
- • Coordinate handover information for opportunities that move forward, including the client’s stated requirements, agreed scope, submitted proposal, relevant correspondence, and outstanding questions. Ensure the appropriate internal contacts receive accurate information for the next stage.
- • Perform other sales-related duties that align with the position’s responsibilities, experience, and assigned business priorities. The role focuses on individual contribution and does not include direct team management.
