Description
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two years of online tutoring experience in chemistry at international qualification levels and possess strong command over the subject matter. You will prepare lesson plans, practice exercises, and revision resources that align with the IGCSE, AS Level, and A Level syllabi. Regular assessment of student progress is essential, coupled with providing constructive feedback that motivates learners. You will harness virtual classroom technologies such as Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and Google Meet to conduct lessons effectively. Maintaining clear communication, punctuality, and professionalism in all interactions is fundamental to this role, as is ensuring a reliable and distraction-free environment for online teaching.
Responsibilities
- Deliver well-structured and interactive online Chemistry lessons tailored for IGCSE, AS Level, and A Level students.
- Explain complex scientific concepts in a simple and understandable manner, adapting teaching methods to suit diverse learning styles.
- Develop and prepare course materials, including lesson plans, practice questions, and revision notes aligned with international curricula.
- Utilize virtual classroom tools effectively, including digital whiteboards, screen sharing, and multimedia resources to enhance student engagement.
- Track and assess student progress continuously, providing timely and constructive feedback to encourage improvement.
- Manage and support a team of 10 tutors, fostering collaboration and maintaining the quality of educational delivery.
- Maintain consistent communication with students to address queries and provide academic support outside of lessons.
- Adhere to scheduled tutoring sessions strictly, ensuring punctuality and dependable availability for students.
- Administer Learning Management System (LMS) platforms to organize content, track assignments, and monitor student performance.
- Promote a positive and professional online learning environment by ensuring discipline and motivation among students.
- Keep updated with current curriculum requirements, examination patterns, and effective online teaching practices.
- Troubleshoot basic technical issues related to virtual classroom platforms to minimize disruptions during lessons.
- Demonstrate proficiency in using popular online teaching and collaboration tools such as Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and Google Meet.
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in handling student data and academic records.
- Participate regularly in training and development opportunities to enhance online tutoring skills and subject knowledge.
- Coordinate with the management team to schedule lessons and optimize resource allocation across the tutoring team.
