Tutoronics is seeking a knowledgeable and experienced Online History Tutor to provide specialised academic support to Year 13 students following the Pearson Edexcel International A Level (IAL) curriculum. The ideal candidate will deliver engaging and tailored online tutoring sessions covering key units such as The British Raj (WHI02) and Russia in Revolution (WHI01). This role involves guiding students through complex historical events, developments, and interpretations, equipping them with essential exam techniques and helping them meet stringent assessment criteria. The tutor should have at least two years of online tutoring experience, particularly within the Edexcel IAL syllabus. Strong communication skills and familiarity with digital teaching tools are essential, as lessons will be conducted remotely using platforms like Google Meet and Zoom. This part-time or freelance role focuses on personalised support to boost students' understanding and academic performance in history. The tutor will prepare revision materials, develop exam-style questions, and provide constructive feedback to promote continuous improvement. Candidates must demonstrate proven success in teaching the specific Edexcel History units mentioned and possess a relevant background in history. Although there is no team management responsibility, the tutor must independently plan and execute instructional content effectively, creating a supportive learning environment that fosters student confidence and skill development.
Responsibilities
- Deliver structured and engaging online History lessons tailored to the academic needs of Year 13 students studying the Edexcel IAL curriculum.
- Teach The British Raj (WHI02) and Russia in Revolution (WHI01) units comprehensively, ensuring clarity in explaining historical events, causes, consequences, and interpretations.
- Develop students’ skills in source analysis, essay writing, and historical evaluation to enhance critical thinking and exam performance.
- Prepare and provide revision materials and exam-style practice questions aligned precisely with Edexcel IAL syllabus requirements.
- Offer effective exam preparation strategies and ongoing constructive feedback to guide students toward achieving their best possible outcomes.
- Monitor each student’s progress regularly, identifying and addressing areas requiring improvement or further attention.
- Utilize digital teaching tools such as digital whiteboards, screen sharing, and online platforms to facilitate interactive and dynamic tutoring sessions.
- Maintain a professional and supportive learning environment while adapting teaching techniques to meet diverse learner needs remotely.
- Stay informed about updates to Edexcel IAL History syllabi, curriculum changes, and exam regulations to ensure effective instruction.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with students and stakeholders to provide updates on progress and discuss academic goals.
