Candidates must demonstrate sound decision-making, reliability, and the ability to work effectively under pressure, ensuring compliance with the organization's conduct and performance standards.
Responsibilities
- Examine container and cargo scanner images to identify anomalies, concealments, density/material inconsistencies, undeclared or suspicious goods, and indicators requiring further action.
- Compare scanned images with AI analysis results, cargo manifests, and declarations to verify consistency between declared goods and scanned contents.
- Utilize image processing and AI-assisted tools such as zoom, contrast enhancement, material discrimination, measurement, annotation, and automated alerts to validate images before finalizing findings.
- Record clear, standardized image analysis results for each scan, distinguishing cases needing further review from those with no significant anomalies.
- Escalate complex or uncertain images to designated supervisors or relevant review authorities for additional assessment.
- Maintain comprehensive records of image analysis results, case references, decisions, and subsequent examination or seizure outcomes for audits and quality reviews.
- Prepare and transmit concise official reports, discrepancy notices, referrals, alerts, and other communications to relevant customs formations according to procedures and deadlines.
- Update and maintain a reference image and case library by adding validated cases, concealment examples, anomalies, and confirmed outcomes with proper indexing for future comparison and training.
- Incorporate feedback from physical examinations, seizures, and supervisory reviews to update case records and enhance image interpretation accuracy.
- Identify and report recurring concealment patterns, commodities, routes, or image analysis trends to supervisors for strategic insights.
- Ensure confidentiality, integrity, and authorized handling of scanner images, cargo data, and analytical findings, complying with access control, data retention, and information security requirements.
- Participate in proficiency testing, refresher training, case review sessions, and quality assurance initiatives to maintain high standards of image reading accuracy and consistency.
- Adhere to the organization's standards regarding conduct, punctuality, and performance while performing all duties.
