Urba Marker is seeking a dedicated Environmental Specialist with at least 5 years of experience to join our team. The successful candidate will apply their expertise in environmental sciences to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and support the company’s sustainability goals. This role focuses on assessing environmental impact, recommending best practices, and promoting responsible resource management without managing a team. The Environmental Specialist will work closely with cross-functional departments to monitor environmental programs and initiatives. Candidates must hold a diploma in environmental sciences and demonstrate strong knowledge of regulatory frameworks and sustainability practices. The role demands proactive problem solving and the ability to implement practical solutions that minimize environmental risks and enhance the company's compliance posture.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and ensure compliance with environmental laws, regulations, and company policies.
- Conduct environmental assessments and audits to identify potential compliance issues and risks.
- Develop and implement sustainability initiatives to reduce environmental impact and promote resource efficiency.
- Prepare detailed reports on environmental performance and compliance status for internal and external stakeholders.
- Advise on regulatory changes and assist in updating policies and procedures accordingly.
- Coordinate with regulatory agencies and respond to environmental inspections and inquiries.
- Support training programs to increase employee awareness of environmental responsibilities and sustainable practices.
- Participate in environmental impact assessments for new projects and operations.
- Recommend improvements to waste management, pollution control, and energy usage.
- Collect and analyze environmental data to track the effectiveness of implemented initiatives.
