Waylink is seeking a skilled Fiber Splicing Technician to join our team. In this role, you will perform critical fiber optic splicing and testing operations, specializing in FTTH/GPON networks. With at least two years of experience, you will install, maintain, and troubleshoot fiber optic systems to ensure high-quality network connectivity. You will work with fusion splicing machines, OTDR devices, and other fiber testing tools to locate and resolve faults and signal loss efficiently. This position requires hands-on fieldwork, attention to detail, and adherence to safety and quality standards. As a Fiber Splicing Technician, you will not manage a team but will collaborate closely with other technicians and network professionals to maintain accurate documentation and support the deployment and maintenance of fiber optic infrastructure. Your expertise in fusion and mechanical splicing, along with proficiency in optical power meter usage and OTDR testing, will be essential to maintaining the performance and reliability of Waylink's fiber optic networks.

Responsibilities

• Perform FTTH and GPON fiber optic splicing and termination to support network installations and expansions.
• Execute fusion splicing of fiber optic cables using conventional and advanced splicing equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair fiber optic network faults to minimize downtime and optimize signal transmission.
• Conduct OTDR testing, optical power meter measurements, and visual fault localization to ensure network integrity.
• Prepare fiber joints, closures, optical distribution frames (ODFs), and patch panels for secure and organized network setups.
• Maintain detailed splicing records, test results, and network documentation to assist with ongoing network management.
• Follow strict safety protocols and industry quality standards throughout all installation and maintenance activities.
• Collaborate with team members and field supervisors to coordinate maintenance schedules and emergency repairs.
• Stay updated with new fiber optic technologies, tools, and best practices to enhance technical capabilities.
• Perform cable preparation activities, including stripping, cleaning, and handling fiber optic cables safely and accurately.
