Description
WellServe is seeking a dedicated QHSE Engineer with 4 years of experience in the Oil and Gas sector to join their team in Karachi. The role involves implementing and continuously monitoring the company’s quality, health, safety, and environmental policies to ensure effective risk management. The ideal candidate will be certified with NEBOSH and IOSH and demonstrate strong expertise in risk assessment, occupational health and safety, environmental compliance, and audit procedures. This position requires the ability to foster a strong safety culture both on-site and within the office environment, manage compliance with local and international standards, and lead a team of 30 personnel. The QHSE Engineer will collaborate across departments to promote proactive safety practices and enforce regulatory compliance. The role emphasizes conducting regular site inspections, performing thorough risk assessments, and preparing detailed incident investigation reports to prevent recurrence of accidents. The candidate must also provide safety training programs, maintain documentation of QHSE activities, monitor permit to work systems during hazardous operations, and stay current with evolving QHSE laws and regulations. The successful candidate is expected to support management with performance reporting and drive continuous improvement in safety and environmental management systems within WellServe.
Responsibilities
- Implement and continuously monitor the company’s quality, health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures to manage risks effectively.
- Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify hazards and ensure compliance with QHSE standards.
- Perform comprehensive risk assessments, hazard identification, and risk control measures specific to the Oil and Gas industry.
- Ensure strict adherence to local and international QHSE regulations, including ISO 14001 Environmental Management System standards.
- Develop, prepare, and submit detailed incident and accident investigation reports, including corrective and preventive action plans.
- Provide safety training and awareness programs to enhance employee understanding and compliance with safety protocols.
- Maintain accurate and thorough documentation for all QHSE activities, including inspection records and compliance reports.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to promote a proactive safety culture and encourage reporting and resolution of safety concerns.
- Utilize Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and other tools to analyze incidents and implement solutions to improve workplace safety.
- Monitor and enforce permit to work (PTW) systems to control hazardous operations during maintenance and operational activities.
- Stay updated with evolving laws, regulations, and industry standards impacting QHSE practices and implement required changes promptly.
- Support management by preparing QHSE performance reports, recommending improvements to safety and environmental management.
- Lead and manage a team of 30 personnel, facilitating communication, training, and adherence to QHSE standards throughout the team.
